Cork City Heritage Week Events 2017


Cork City Heritage Week 19th to the 27th of August 2017

Cork City Heritage Week is kick started by Cork Heritage Open Day on the 19th of August. This is an event that sees over 40 historic and heritage buildings open their doors free of charge for one day only. In addition there is an extensive programme of events such as walks, talks, exhibitions and festivals such as Medieval day in Elizabeth Fort and the Coal Quay Festival. There are plenty of fun events for all the family happening all day on Cork Heritage Open Day. Heritage Week in Cork City is a weeklong celebration of our unique history and heritage with events ranging from guided tours of historic areas of Cork City, talks on our historic past and exhibitions on the fascinating story of Cork city’s heritage. Cork City Libraries has an exciting programme of events happening throughout the week and the Old Cork Waterworks Experience formerly the Lifetime Lab is finishing the week on Sunday the 27th of August with a special child friendly water heritage open day from 12pm to 4pm.
