Ongoing Works

 

Henry Street: Footpath & parking restrictions in place from 0800hrs – 1800hrs to facilitate kerb re-alignment as part of the City Centre Public Transport Improvement Scheme (MGOS), no impact on local traffic

Glenthorn Drive:  Give/Take in operation from 0800hrs – 1800hrs to facilitate installation of ESB ducting (ESB Networks)

Curraheen Road: Road closure currently in place from the junction of Curraheen Lawn to facilitate replacement of Curraheen Bridge. Diversions in place – this closure will remain in place until Sunday 27th August 2017.

Horgan’s Quay: Bus Lane closure currently in place to facilitate the construction of a new entrance for Kent Station (Murphy International)

Emmett Place: Full closure currently in place to facilitate re-construction work as part of the City Centre Public Transport Improvement Scheme (MGOS), diversions in place - please see www.transportforcorkcity.ie – **this will remain in place until Thursday 31st August 2017**

Christy Ring Bridge: Lane restriction currently in operation to facilitate the removal of controlled pedestrian crossings on the bridge as part of the City Centre Public Transport Improvement Scheme (MGOS), diversions in place - please see www.transportforcorkcity.ie – **this will remain in place until Friday 25th August 2017**

Sheares Street: Parking restrictions currently in place to facilitate footpath replacement as part of the City Centre Public Transport Improvement Scheme (MGOS).

George’s Quay: Northern footpath closed between signalised junction with Union Quay/ South Terrace and pedestrian crossing adjacent to Parliament Bridge from Monday to Friday (09:00 to 17:00hrs) Roads Deptrepair of quay wall railings (Euroforce Eng).

Victoria Cross: Lane restriction in place from 0600hrs – 2200hrs outside University Hall campus accommodation to facilitate sanding and painting of building (Walls)

Lower Glanmire Road: Lane restrictions in place from 0400hrs – 0800hrs to facilitate advertising on the Railway Bridge (John Cahill Advertising)

North Ring Road: Lane restriction in operation from 0900hrs – 1700hrs from the junction of Boherboy Road to the junction of Halcon Drive to facilitate hedge trimming (Parks Dept, CCC)

Victoria Cross: Lane restriction in place from 0600hrs – 2200hrs outside University Hall campus accommodation to facilitate sanding and painting of building (Walls)

Monday 21st August 2017

St. Patricks Street: Stop/Go in place from 2100hrs – 0600hrs to facilitate crane lift onto Capitol Building (Sonica Fitout)

Cornmarket Street: Northbound road closure in place from 1900hrs – 2300hrs from the junction of Kyle Street to the junction of Kyrl’s Quay to facilitate gas main diversion. Diversions will be in place and local access will be maintained where possible. There will be no access to Cornmarket Street for Heavy Goods Vehicles for the duration of the road closure. Sullivan’s Quay: Full closure in place from 2100hrs – 0600hrs from the junction of Parliament Bridge to the junction of South Gate Bridge to facilitate road resurfacing (Lagan Asphalt)

Halcon Drive: Give/Take in operation from 0930hrs – 1600hrs to facilitate drainage repair (Drainage Dept, CCC)

Watercourse Road: Stop/Go in place from 1930hrs – 2300hrs near the junction with Thomas Davis Street to facilitate resetting of manhole covers (Ryca)

  • The N71 Bandon Road: will be closing at the Viaduct on the 11th- 14th and 18th - 21st of August 2017 for emergency road works. The works are to allow the construction of a new flood culvert under the road at the Viaduct. Traffic from Bandon will have to divert via Ballinhassig and enter the City by Airport Hill. City traffic will be diverted via Airport Hill to Ballinhassig. (Egis Lagan Services) – Work has now been completed and works will not proceed as planned on 18th – 21st August 2017
