Social Housing Assessment

The 2017 Summary Social Housing Assessment continues the process of annual assessments of national housing need, commenced with the 2016 summary, in line with the commitment contained in ‘Social Housing Strategy 2020 – Support, Supply & Reform’. The assessments are required to identify the total level of national housing need, and to provide vital data to inform the development of housing policy. All local authorities are required by the Department to reassess applicants on their waiting lists, to collect up-to-date and accurate information on their social housing needs.
